Anger Management In Swindon

Learn how to control your anger and identify what is causing you to become angry.

How to know if you need
Anger Management

It’s O.K. to get angry. It’s perfectly normal and one of the common emotions everyone feels. However, anger becomes a problem if you express it through unhelpful or destructive behaviour.

This behaviour can either be aimed at yourself or others.

You might need anger management support sessions in Swindon if you do the following things regularly:

  • Physically hurt other people, including hitting

  • Shout at people

  • Break things

  • Lose control or feel like you’re about to lose control

Ask yourself these questions

Do you often find yourself being aggressive towards other people?

Are you frightening or worrying yourself, or those around you with your behaviour?

Do you tell yourself that you hate yourself, that you're useless, that you don't deserve things?

Do you shut yourself off from the world, deny yourself things that make you happy or self-harm?

Why you should get Anger Management support

Not being able to control your anger can lead to greater mental health issues. This includes increased anxiety and increased risk of depression. Anger can also make any pre-existing issue worse.

The Process

During your Anger Management sessions with Elaine in Swindon, you will work together to identify your key anger triggers and discuss ways you can work around these triggers.

  • It isn’t easy to identify why you get angry. It could be the result of lots of stress and pressure building up around you. Or it could stem from past trauma like neglect or abuse. I will help you identify the type of situation that triggers your anger and find a way to get better.

  • Once we have identified the situations that trigger your anger, or the root cause of your anger, we will identify the physical signs of your anger. This way, you will be able to identify when you are getting angry. Then, you will know when to start your calming exercises.

  • Once we have identified the root cause of your anger and the situations that trigger it, we can create stratagies to help you improve. These anger management strategies can include self-awareness, impulse control, meditation, breathing, personal reflection and emotional awareness.

  • Once we’ve established what makes you angry and developed plans to help you overcome your anger, I will continue mentoring you and helping you overcome any obstacles related to your anger.
